Mission & Vision
Why the Caribbean AI Agency exists, and what we’re building toward. Curious who’s behind it? Meet the team →
Our Mission
To ensure the Caribbean shapes its own artificial intelligence future.
The Caribbean AI Agency exists to build the governance frameworks, workforce capability, and investment infrastructure the region needs to participate in the AI economy as a full partner — not a passive host for someone else’s data centers, someone else’s standards, or someone else’s growth. We work alongside governments, regional institutions, and the private sector to make sure the decisions being made about AI in the Caribbean right now are made with the region, not just for it.
Our Vision
A Caribbean where AI strengthens sovereignty, not substitutes for it.
We envision a region where governments and institutions have the expertise and ethical frameworks to direct how AI is built and deployed within their own borders — where global investment in Caribbean AI infrastructure creates lasting regional prosperity and skilled jobs, not just extracted value — and where Caribbean voices are shaping international AI governance conversations, not simply receiving their outcomes.
What Guides Us
Sovereignty
The Caribbean should set the terms of its own AI adoption, not inherit them from elsewhere.
Transparency
Investment and governance decisions that affect the public deserve to be made in the open.
Inclusion
A regional AI future should widen opportunity across the Caribbean, not concentrate it.
Rigor
We favor evidence and due diligence over hype — in governance work and investment promotion alike.
Partnership
We work alongside governments and institutions like MPAAI, not around them.
Accountability
We engage criticism and hard questions directly rather than avoiding them.
